We were within a few hundred dollars of a surplus of $3,000 and our Treasurer Sanjay Singh chipped in an extra few hundred dollars to get us there. Many of the campers did not give receipts for common expenses, donating their costs to the chapter. Here is some information from Sanjay ji:

…….I know many folks purchased stuff for the event and did not charge for it, and many folks just contributed extra amounts. It took the proverbial village to get us here. In the end, we can truly claim we had a fun filled event and on by the way, generated a $3000 surplus which we can use for a good cause…..

…….Incidentally, our bank balance is $16,432 now and expected to increase to ~$17,200 by the time I receive the remaining checks, and payments made by us are encashed. We inherited a balance of $15k, and also inherited several liabilities like RANA youth ambassador payments of $2000. Since this EC took over, we have paid out previous liabilities and generated a surplus of ~$4000 to date. Pretty cool……..

Its awesome to have a highly accomplished CFO of a major corporation to be Treasurer. Pictures of camping to follow soon.

We had an amazing camping Adventure with participation of 44 families and 120 people.  This was the largest and perhaps the best camping trip ever.  In fact, long time camper, Rajesh Singh mentioned it was the best trip in his 30+ years of camping.  The camping sites were all in one location that surrounded a single Kitchen.  Organizers collaborated and did an amazing job

We had 2 catered dinners, a catered Dosa brunch party, an amazing Chulha party sponsored by the Rathod Family and 2 nights of Barbecue.  We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny 4 days without a drop of rain.  The holiday weekend was packed with activities including boating, fishing (Shaurya caught a fish!) swimming, tug of war, charades, Famous jodis, antakshari, volleyball, cricket, karaoke, bingo, sack race, pin the tail on the donkey, freeze dance, trip to Hershey park, visit to Amish village, who had the best camping tent contest with RANA theme (Chandrik and Rasik won) and so much more.

Sponsors for camping were Vibha Singh of Montgomery Mortgage and Dr. Sanjay Singh who came all the way from the Alabama Chapter.  They both contributed $500 each.  A special thanks to Chandrika Jadav and Minaxi Singh for logistical guidance, Anupriya Sengar for activities.   Mukesh Parmar did outstanding work to locate and identify the campground and had the vision of reserving the pavilion (which we had all to ourselves) on the banks of Laurel Lake at Pine Grove Furnace State Park where everyone enjoyed a Dosa/Ice Cream Brunch on Sunday afternoon.  Above all, thank you to all the participants.  We are fortunate to have participation from NY, DC and Alabama Chapter.  2 Founders of RANA were in attendance, JB and Pushpa Singh as well as KN and Raj Singh.  Everyone was enthusiastic and there was lots of positive energy.  Here is a list of families.  An apology in advance for missing names and or errors:

The next camping trip will be organized by Surensinh Rathod, Mukesh Mahida, Naivedya Sengar and Raghu Singh.  President Dilipsinh has made a goal of 60 families next year.

Not only did we have the largest camping trip ever (previously the most families attending was 26), we had a profit of over $2,000.  We will have a firm number after Treasurer Sahaab does the final numbers this weekend and we will report it to you.  All money was through Paypal into RANA’s account or directly to treasurer.
We all had serious masti time.  On the last day, we sadly packed our stuff, no one wanted the trip to end.  We made new friendships and deeper bonds with existing friends.  Attached are just a few pictures.  Lots more Pictures (taken by Jay Gohil and others) and Video will be up on our site soon.  Will advise accordingly.

Last call for Jungle Mein Mungle!  We are approaching the attendance of 40 Families.  By far the largest camping gathering in the past 37 years.  Don’t miss this awesome Adventure.  If you cant make it for the entire 4 days, please try to stop by for as little as an afternoon or evening and say hello to your RANA Biradari.  Attached is an agenda compliments of Naivedya Sengar.

We are happy to announce that this year’s camping trip will be the biggest ever!  We have 27 families already paid and registered.  This does not include dozens of people that are expected to attend for day trips including RANA members that were part of the original campers group that havent been active in recent years.  We have families from 10 different states in the US and 1 family from Dubai.  This is turning into a mini-convention.  We very much appreciate the enthusiastic participation of those attending.  We have an action packed adventure planned.

Registration will only be available for another day or so.  If you have not done so, please do so as soon as possible since we need to finalize the camp site and final food arrangements need to be made.  You can register and pay by credit card at www.RANA-NJ.org  Also, please visit www.mountaincreekcamping.com/ for information regarding the campground.  We do have 1 more cabin left for “Glampers”.  Many families that are coming for day trips are staying in hotels.  Although most hotels are sold out, there is some availability at the Days Inn in South Carlisle.  Its inexpensive, $89 per day.

President Dilipsinh Rathod will kick off Untackchariy and Karaoke with a Kishore Kumar song.  No doubt, the video cameras will be out.
Sadhna Singh has promised to break a coconut, as the hope is for no rain.

Attached please find information regarding the upcoming RANA Business Conference. Last year’s inaugural event was a mega success. Texas Chapter is hosting its first International RANA event. This is a great way to network with members of the Biradari. NJ/PA Chapter Member Mahavirsinh Chudasma is the Convener and we have several other members that are actively participating. Exactly 2 weeks away from the annual RANA camping trip.  So many exciting things on the schedule including a DOSA Party, Rathod Family Sponsored Chulha Party, Magnificent Mutton BBQ, Sunday Morning Breakfast Sponsored by Sadhna Singh and Pushpa Singh, Hiking on the Appalachian Trail, Pizza/Sandwiches Sunday afternoon at a Pavilion reserved by Mukesh Parmar at Pine Grove Furnace State Park (includes boating, fishing and biking), trip to Gettysburg Outlet Mall, Late night campfires, catered dinner from a local restaurant on Monday night and so much more.

Although we would love to see you for the duration of the camping trip, many will be coming for 2 days/1 night and staying in a local hotel.  There are options for this on the website.
